Hubungan Keragaman Konsumsi Pangan dan Pendapatan Keluarga dengan Kejadian Kekurangan Energi Kronik

Pregnant women are one of the groups most prone to nutritional problems. One of the nutritional problems experienced by pregnant women is Chronic Energy Malnutrition (CEM). The prevalence of CEM in Siulak Mukai Public Health Center Work Area. This study aims to determine the dietary diversity and family income with the incidence of CEM in pregnant women in the Siulak Mukai Public Health Center Work Area. This study is a quantitative study with a case-control design that was carried out in the Siulak Mukai Public Health Center Work Area from October 2021-July 2022. The population of this study amounted to 101 pregnant women. The sample of this study was 42 pregnant women; 14 pregnant women as cases and 28 pregnant women as controls. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data analysis used the chi-square test. Pregnant women who experience CEM in the Siulak Mukai Public Health Center Work Area were 13.9%. Pregnant women who consume that non-diverse food were 14.2%. Pregnant women who have a low family income were 45.2%. There was no significant relationship between dietary diversity (p-value = 0.161) and family income (p-value = 0.443) with the incidence of CEM. This study concludes that dietary diversity and family income is not a factor that affects the incidence of CEM in pregnant women in the Siulak Mukai Public Health Center Work Area. It is necessary to conduct further research related to the factors that influence the occurrence of CEM.
